Be ready

Hello, I hope everyone has finally moved in and had a great week of classes.

It's going to be a busy year for me, more so than normal, but I have a feeling that's just part of life and growing up.

Speaking of growing up, I'm just going to say that it is extremely weird to be back at school. I had three internships, which were probably some of the best experiences in my life. Coming back now for this last year, I think is going to be a hard adjustment, but also a great final hurrah. This year is already bringing me the closure I didn't know I needed.

Part of growing up is growing out. Out of friendships, out of locations, out of dreams, out of relationships, out of past histories. But that isn't always a bad thing. We growing into things as well. Into new friendships, into our dreams, into our careers, into new cities and countries, into new languages, into new memories, and into the person we are meant to be.

And we can start this process and then finish it, or leave it to be finished at a later time because we are always in some way or another growing up. We will be growing up into our nineties. However, as humans we need closure. We need to feel that sense of finality before we are capable of moving on, of growing up. The process can be started but until you say goodbye to the life you'd been living, in exchange for the one you want to live, something no matter how small a detail is going to eat at you.

So this is my closure. My final year. It's already come with some eye opening experiences, some hard lessons, some heart break, and a realization that this is what I needed. I needed to learn that while I love it here, this isn't where I am meant to be for the next phase of my life.

Part of having dreams, is going after those dreams. I'm ready, ready for life, ready to move on.
I'm ready to follow my heart and its wanderlust, to work in something that makes me happy, to forge new friendships and revisit some old.

So take everything that life throws at you as a lesson, and learn that this chapter of your life is preparing you for the next. And when your life starts to change all you have to do is be ready. Ready to accept what life is going to do, ready to see what you're up to next, ready to become the person you were always meant to be.

So as we move into the school year, and into the hubbub of noise and confusion don't let it distract you from what you want in life, and when life comes knocking. Be ready for the next chapter.

Getting back into the swing of things

Alright I'm staring week two back at UW. And can I just say I am already exhausted?

I thought that a new semester would be easing back in, especially since I am officially moved into the Chi O house. That was the only new thing I had, back to class, back to work. That first week was beyond crazy however, I had so much going on. First off we at the paper were preparing for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, also known as equality day here in the Equality State. And secondly I got initiated this weekend! I am officially a full Chi Omega.

Now that the whirlwind week has died down I'm falling back into the swing of things. Study habits have reared their ugly head telling me that I am trying to go for all A's this semester, and that means putting time in. This has reaffirmed by love in Spotify! I just love it, especially when looking up movie scores to study to. I have been way way to addicted to all things Frozen lately. It is simply the cutest movie! I love that Disney has been stressing the importance of family love before anything else. It makes me super happy.

Hope you all have had a great first week back at classes, can't wait to see what this semester has in store! Check out the Days of Dialogue on campus there is a lot of really inspiring stuff going on! Remember that there is a basketball game tonight in the AA and this Friday at seven in the Feildhouse there is a wrestling tournament, and it's a Greek competition to see which house can get the most people there!

Check out the schedule of events here!

How was your first classes? Anything special happen to you in this first week back?

First Week Madness!

Oh my goodness! This last week flew by!

It was so crazy, first is move in and putting the room together and meeting up with friends. After all it had been a long summer and I missed my Laramie people. I also started my new job, which was terrifying. I am Copy Editor of the Branding Iron, which basically means I put the stories that are all written up onto the paper and make them look pretty. Its definitely a learning process but a week later everything is going by much faster. As my boss keeps telling me, just ask when you don't know something. Its better to ask and do it right then to have someone else fix it later, which is my boss's job but when its done right the first time everything goes faster.

So after getting back into the swing of things is when I went to get my router fixed it turned out that my computer had malware all over it!! (Well they said it wasn't that bad) However, two and a half hours later I had to run off to work leaving my computer overnight at IT. Seriously guys, go to IT. They are super under-appreciated, but it all comes down to customer service. I have had wonderful and terrible experiences with IT just depending on how my mood was and who I was talking to. They know what they are doing and have always been able to fix my computer. So plan for up to an hour or two to go over if your baby is sick and more often than not you're walking out a whole lot sooner.

Alright I'll post more later, just wanted to let you know I hadn't fallen off the face of the earth.

How was adjusting to the first week?
